berlin-based belgian producers sierra sam & marcus vector present the debut release of d.i.y. the first twelve from johannes volk gained support keith worthy, mike huckaby, mills, etc. on this second release johannes drops a mighty techno stomper called internal structure reminiscent of some classic robert hood productions from way back. inspired by a severe an damaging tornado storm in volk?s hometown, this incredibly good, yet frantic piece of dance music is build from layer upon layer: static beats, grooving bassline, sweeping synths and a warm rhodes-esque sound make this a apocalyptic but colourful banger. on the flip we have gerd bringing home the potatoes for sure. his take on volk?s internal structure is a mighty acid stomper reminiscent of those warehouse parties, yet it is done in a very contemporary way. check!

if you like electronic music and youve lived in paris for the last 15 years, theres no way you dont know that man. djulz start playing the very firstparis raves back in 1992. since that time he never stoped running to make things happen in his hometown. hes also the oldest resident of rex club with his party bass culture. today djulz is releasing more and more great music after having produced eps and remixes for label such as music for freaks, paper recordings, 20:20 vision, poker flat, ovum, real tone or intacto, djulz is releasing, fleurette, his new 12inch on circus company. fleurette is a sweet, naïve and housy track. the track is build up over a piano loop which leeds us to some children vocals. all that is surrounded by a strong and precussive rythmic stuffed with a beautifull ride. its defeinitively the kind of track which gives you the power to stick a smile on everybodies face. on b side comes the fleurette tobias. remix. for sure you know the man behind mythical releases on logistic records and more recently wagon repair. hes also behind the electronic jazz combo called nsi. which just give name to his own label. an emblematic character of the scene who collaborates with artist like atom heart, dandy jack or max loderbauer in the past 20 years. supported by dixon, jay haze, Âme, luciano, laurent garnier, 2000 & one, josh wink and dj deep.

todd bodine demonstrates with this ep once again extraordenary taste and skills. after a very successfull excursion on claude van strokes mothership label and his activities as a heavily booked live-act and dj he presents on >unexpected life-form< two brilliant tracks, that seem to burst with their energy. todd bodine apparently has gained a lot of experience how to bunch the impact on both the dancefloor and the musical side and how to turn the result into a wall of sound. and hes doing it by following his own unique style. on the a-side >calypso< captivates you right after a few seconds with its pulsating sequences and a subtle growing energy-level from break to break. developing a drive which wont miss its impact on any floor. >snakeskin< on the flip is homogeneously build around shimmering melody-sequences which create the energy of this track, while the bassline below pulsates warm and deep. sounds like: detroit without kitsch. or like a cross between matthew johnson, robert hood and fabrice lig. to put it in other words: a typical todd bodine release in the best sense. allready a true highlight in the highgradecatalogue in 20

responsible for this tartelet release is debutant mhm one aka morten halborg-møller. he s a local lad from copenhagen who has decided to give something back to the world of electronic music that he loves so much. before he decided to sit in the producer chair, he spend huge amounts of time on his copenhagen based kill your telly promotion. a promotion which has more than 5 succesful years on it s back and has featured a huge tally of big name bookings. said promotion at which he started out his djing career resulting in him being one of the most sought after djs in denmark. being the creative and gifted spirit that he is, music and clubbing is not the only thing that keep him occupied. he also expresses himself via visual artwork earning the fourth spot in the renowned graphic art collective that is bottega areté.... and oh yeah ...did we mention what a nice bloke he is? a1: the a side features a funky little groover that will fit well into a club where punters prefer to dance. the track is build around a playful bassline hook accompanied by a simple and catchy vocal (by who made who member tomas hoffding) a really sweet minimal workout for sure, that really does the trick. b1: on the flip side we get served a dish of bass heavy house. this time it s dutch house supremo melon who sorts out the remix treatment and turns bubububadub into a tribal ish affair. suited for big clubs? check. sexy? check. playable? very much so.

after his album with black strobe released in 2007, arnaud rebotini comes back with a new ep and a 100 percent electronic live. arnaud hopes for entering in a new approach in which live is the beginning of the project&#146,s conception. the idea is to build a dancefloor set without using laptop or external sequencer but around emblematic machines (tr 909, tr 808, sh 101, juno 60, korg monopoly). this producer wants to let us share his studio experience in live. &#147,music components&#148, is an album of romantic and timeless techno where rebotini goes back to hot and groovy sounds of his first productions

clear yellow vinyl! >ammo dump< once again from the dread camp serum comes with another dance floor smasher. with a subtle build-up and complementary vocal sample, this track explodes into a mighty bassline. serum manages to work his magic with a simple roller, but trust me, this is to hurt those bassbins. inspired and taken from the dub dread iii compilation of various artists, this is a lovely slice of dread cake for you to taste and savour

evouh being a huge synth laden monster with huge build up and enormous drop and then break. on the flip side rakfunk is a superb funky track with cool edits and synth work recently made essential new tune by pete tong. the third track wakanpi has been a firm favourite for some time with its ethnic chanting vocal, cool synth lick and driving rhythm. this has recieved massive support from pete tong, eric prydz, john digweed, sasha, sebastian ingrosso, steve angello, paulo mojo and sebastian leger. enormous!

mark e is simply unstoppable at the moment!! this is the fourth release in about 2 months and they just keep getting better… two epic slo-mo edits on jisco it is then. those of you that might remember the >smilling / for love< 12inch, this is in a similar sort of vein. slow, chuggy, with a gradual build-up thats tantalisingly sweet! as with all jiscomusic releases, this is highly limited so grab one quick!

kindisch is now eighteen releases old, and its mission - to uncover new talent, and to provide a platform for producers to evolve and experiment - is more passionate than ever. this time, the reins are handed to sascha braemer, aka hirtenfellner, and philip bader, who build on the promise of their releases on sup dub and get physical. >mamba drums< is, as its name suggests, a percussive, latin-tinged affair, with sweeping builds and heavy drops, layer upon layer of locomotive percussion and a skeletal four-note vamp designed to whip the listener into a state of frenzy (and sure to be successful in this aim!). a male vocal sample pervades on >thrill<, this time more gruff, more laconic, and edited so that the words become another percussive element rather than carriers of meaning. deep whirlpools of delay open up below a surface drift of jazz-tinged chords, from a minimalist sound palette bader and braemer paint a vastly evocative, effusive picture that will transport the listener, or dancefloor, to a strange and addictive place. >put your arms around me<, implores the soul-infused vocal sample on b >around<, over a yawning vista of synth chords bridged with sibiliant snares and subtle but earth-moving edits that leave no doubt as to braemer and baders mastery of dancefloor dynamics.
